who we are: the full story

ND Homeschool Moms is the result of years of prayers, dreaming and planning. Well, actually, it was more like over-thinking. We both do that very well.

We don’t remember how we met or even how we started working together, but in 2019 a mutual friend basically told us we needed each other.

Less than a year later, we began talking and dreaming about this nebulous idea of loving, encouraging and supporting homeschool moms and leaders in a new way. Long before we started this conversation, God had called each of us to not only homeschooling and to leading in the Bismarck homeschool community, but also He’d made it clear that our purpose and calling was found within encouraging fellow moms.

Fast forward to 2022, we held our first homeschool moms’ retreat in July then in September were honored with scholarships to HSLDA’s Leadership Conference in Missouri. There, God moved mightily in our hearts, exposed us to new ideas and showed us how He could use our gifts of hospitality, administration and exhortation to honor Him and love homeschool moms. He even introduced us to a group of four other scholarship recipients from MO, LA and CO whose hearts echoed our own. The six of us were instant friends and still talk several times a week.

2023 dawned with a renewed passion for this dream of ours and one winter afternoon, we took the leap. We’re so excited to share this adventure with you.

ND Homeschool Moms is a soft place to land, an oasis in the desert, a stream in the wilderness meant to refresh homeschool moms of all ages and stages, faith and philosophy. Our mission is simple. Encourage, support and equip homeschool moms with hospitality, thoughtful events and compassionate coaching.
